Washington Story

A Gracious home in one of Washington D.C.'s loveliest residential neighborhoods, the house was transformed with a dramatic new entry door featuring a 12-foot tall front door which inspiration was modeled after a Belgium precedent Garrow had seen. The interior of the house, originally compartmentalized, was transformed into a more open floor plan, with rooms flowing into one another. The double height stair foyer was architecturally characterized with a simple grid-work wall paneling, and leads to a dramatic 2nd floor octagonal landing area. The furnishings incorporate the client's own antique Peruvian pieces, including significant portraiture and carved & elaborate end, side, center tables and chairs, all mixed with new upholstery pieces, contemporary fabrics to give the residence a historic but modern flair.
